I'm an Australian with 6 years experience tutoring English language students. After studying Japanese formally in Japan (同志社大学）and Portuguese at UFMG (Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais), and having lived in both Japan and Brazil, I have a unique perspective on language learning for adults. I am patient but I also like to see that the student is applying themselves outside of the classes.
I have experience working in sales and HR so I can offer interview preparation sessions and proof reading or feedback on the student's CV.
I have travelled to many countries, I like visiting new places and trying new food.

My method is focused on conversation using topics of the student's interest. I emphasise frequency of contact with the English language, wether it be active or passive, and tools for vocabulary revision. As the classes are focused on speaking, my students are usually intermediate or advanced, however I have worked with beginners as well.
I offer recommendations of native content suitable for the student's interest and current level. I understand the difficulty of studying a foreign language and the even greater difficulty of using a foreign language in the target country. Very often the student's challenge is unrelated to the mechanics of the language (for example grammar), it is an issue of not enough practice and a lack of self confidence.
