I’m a Japanese tutor specializing in beginner-level learners, especially those studying at the JLPT N5 and N4 levels

1. Beginner-Level JLPT N5 & N4 Lessons
My main lessons are beginner-level Japanese classes for learners working toward the JLPT N5 and N4 levels.
They are based on Minna no Nihongo (Beginner) and are recommended for learners who want to carefully study basic grammar and build a strong foundation.
In class, I’ll share my original PowerPoint slides on the screen as we go through the lesson.
Lessons also include some opportunities to practice listening and speaking.
A solid understanding of basic grammar is essential for progressing to higher levels of Japanese, so I place great importance on helping students fully understand the basics before moving forward.
2. Learning Basic Japanese Communication Skills with Irodori
For learners who are not focused on grammar or exams and would like to get basic Japanese communication skills, I also offer beginner-level lessons using Irodori.
We follow the textbook step by step, and gentle, guided speaking practice is included so you can gradually start using Japanese at a comfortable pace.
The textbook includes English pronunciation guides (romaji), which makes it suitable for learners who are not yet able to read hiragana or katakana.
You will also learn useful phrases for everyday situations.
3. Conversation Practice for Learners Who Have Completed N4 Grammar
I also offer conversation-based output lessons for learners who have completed grammar study up to N4.
In these lessons, we practice speaking using N5–N4 grammar patterns to help you strengthen your output skills and fully solidify your beginner-level Japanese.
This lesson is especially recommended for students who have studied Japanese using textbooks but are not yet sure if they can use the language in real conversation.
️ If you are looking for lessons without a textbook or a very flexible, conversation-only style, my lessons may not be the best fit.
In that case, please consider another teacher who specializes in that format

I’m a native Japanese speaker, born and raised in Japan, and I specialize in teaching beginners.
My lessons are clear, structured, and interactive, helping you build confidence in Japanese step by step.
I aim to guide each student with patience and care as they grow more comfortable using the language.

JLPT
《Only for N5 and N4》Preparation — N5: For those who already have the textbook "Minna no Nihongo Shokyu I" (minimum predicted lessons to complete: 55); N4: For those with "Minna no Nihongo Shokyu II" (minimum predicted lessons to complete: 75). All grammar points in the textbooks will be covered, with the final lessons dedicated to review and test preparation. Self-study for preparation and review is expected. Lesson count may vary depending on the student’s pace and needs.
＜Japanese for beginners＞
We will start from the basics using the Irodori textbook, beginning with simple greetings. I’ll share my screen during the lesson. Don’t worry if you can’t read hiragana yet — the textbook includes English readings and I’ll explain in English as well. You’ll be able to build a solid foundation in Japanese and hold simple daily conversations. For students who wish to systematically build up their elementary grammar, I recommend lessons based on the textbook Minna no Nihongo Shokyu I; if you are interested, please prepare the textbook.
