I was a Japanese teacher in Sydney Australia for a year and I still teach them online. Before that I taught Japanese people English. So I have quite a bit of experience in teaching languages. What I know is how to master a language.Because I taught myself English and I understand how having a tutor makes language learning easier. You can not master a language only with textbooks. You need a native speaker to teach you how it sounds, what’s natural, and force yourself in a situation where you actually speak that language you want to learn. I can promise you that.

I start with pronunciation because it makes your brain realize it’s a language instead of random letters on textbooks. Even when you are studying for a test like JLPT, this approach works. You have to be feel that it is a language instead of foreign letters. I obviously have done so many lessons for people who want to be able to speak Japanese, I still teach Australian high school students online. Why I can keep them focused is because I make lessons personal for students. I have them talk about what they like in Japanese, so that,again,you can feel that it is a language which can connect you to many people. Learning languages is a beautiful thing and I always make sure students have fun.
