GIACOSAさんについて
I am about to finish a PhD in Cognitive Semiotics, between Germany, Sweden and Japan.
I started learning English when I was 3 years old, and I never stopped!
I have taught in research seminars about cognitive linguistics, and I have been a University tutor for 2 years, also teaching privately to students with learning disorders.
I LOVE teaching, and I want to become a Professor!
I started teaching music to younger students when I was just 15 years old, and I always loved it. I think teaching is one of the most important jobs in the world.
I like making connections with people, but most of all I love to see my students understand and improve!
I published research papers, and I work as a reviewer for scientific journals (also with Springer Nature), all in English.
[I am a bit of a "grammar nazi", I always loved learning languages =) ]
In my academic career, I studied linguistics, literature, communication, cognitive science, musicology, and education.
I have also practiced acting (theatre) for almost 20 years, even with a summer course in Cambridge, UK (CSVPA), and I am a musician and singer (in 2 bands): I have learnt - and I teach - respiration, vocal and articulation techniques, so that you can speak and pronounce perfectly!

Hi!
My classes are very flexible, I can adapt to your rhythm / preferred style.
I normally follow a textbook, then we can explore topics.
But USING the language is the most important thing, so let's talk and write!
I studied general and cognitive linguistics, and I have taught in Universities (research seminars and as private tutor) and privately.
I also taught students with learning disorders, using mental maps and connections. I studied some special memorization techniques that can help.
Learn how to use your mind to learn better!
In my classes, the first step is UNDERSTANDING: I always make sure that you understand me, and we can find ways to clarify anything.
Another point is IMITATING sounds: I love learning languages, and I am constantly learning new ones (スペイン語、ドイツ語、フランス語、日本語、...). I learnt that focusing on imitating the sounds correctly is crucial!
I am also an actor and a singer, so I can help you with PRONOUNCIATION ;) I studied in the UK, but I also learned USA English, so we can practice what you prefer.
Finally, grammar is important, but you really learn a language when you can understand JOKES and IRONY! So let's read some texts and watch videos, and comment together to learn implications!
