I come from India, where my entire education — from school through university — was conducted completely in English, making it as natural to me as a first language; in fact, I think and process ideas in English rather than translate from anywhere else. Since moving to Japan in 2024, I've been living and studying here as an international student, and through daily life, coursework, and part-time work, I've built conversational fluency in Japanese as well.
This combination is what genuinely sets me apart: I'm not a monolingual English tutor guessing at what confuses Japanese learners. I can hear exactly where a sentence goes wrong in someone's head, because I understand both the English logic they're missing and the Japanese logic they're translating from. When "why" isn't clear in English alone, I can explain it in Japanese, and switch back, until it actually clicks.
I'm reliable, patient, and genuinely invested in each student's progress. My goal isn't to get through a lesson plan; it's for you to leave every session understanding something more clearly, and speaking with a little more confidence than before.

My teaching approach centers on making English genuinely click for Japanese learners, not just memorized. Since I speak both languages — English at a native level from an entirely English-medium education, and Japanese at a conversational N2 level — I can explain grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation by directly comparing them to Japanese, showing exactly where the two languages think differently. This is something a monolingual English tutor simply cannot offer.
A typical lesson starts with understanding your specific goal, whether that's conversation confidence, exam preparation, business English, or everyday fluency, followed by focused practice with real examples and immediate, clear feedback. I keep lessons relaxed and encouraging, since I believe students learn fastest when they're not afraid to make mistakes.
I welcome students of all levels, from complete beginners to advanced learners, including working professionals, university students, and anyone preparing for exams or overseas opportunities. My own experience studying in Japan as a foreign student gives me a practical understanding of the specific challenges Japanese learners face with English.
