Hello, my name is Chay. I am an English tutor who enjoys helping students feel more comfortable and natural when speaking English.
I was born in Europe and grew up in the United States. I have always been interested in language, stories, and different cultures. I especially enjoy meeting students from Japan and learning about your way of thinking and daily life.
Outside of teaching, I enjoy quiet and creative hobbies such as writing, reading, painting, baking, and making music. I like things that feel calm, expressive, and thoughtful.
My lessons are calm, friendly, and easy to follow. If you feel shy or nervous speaking English, that is completely okay. We will go slowly and take things step by step, so you never feel rushed or pressured. I will help you build simple sentences and guide you when you are unsure, so speaking English feels more natural over time.
We will focus on useful everyday English, simple conversation, and practical expressions you can actually use in real life. You can always take your time, pause when you need, and speak at your own pace. The goal is not perfection, but comfort and progress.
If you are not sure where to start, that is also fine. We can begin with a trial lesson and simply talk. I will listen to your goals and help you find a way of learning that feels comfortable for you.

My lessons are designed to feel calm, natural, and genuinely supportive, especially for students who feel shy, overthink while speaking, or struggle with confidence in English. I create a relaxed atmosphere where you can take your time, ask questions freely, and practice without feeling judged or rushed.
Rather than focusing only on textbooks, I help students build practical English they can actually use in conversations, exams, work, travel, and everyday life. Lessons are structured but flexible, combining useful speaking practice with natural conversation so English feels more familiar and less intimidating over time.
I especially enjoy helping students prepare for TOEIC, IELTS, EIKEN, and TOEFL speaking while also improving overall fluency and communication skills. Many students tell me they feel more comfortable speaking English after only a few lessons because the classroom environment feels patient, friendly, and easy to follow.
I believe language learning works best when students feel relaxed enough to express themselves, make mistakes comfortably, and slowly grow in confidence through real communication.
