Nice to meet you. I’m a native Japanese speaker, born and raised in Japan. I’m currently continuing my language studies alongside my university work, so I design my lessons with a strong “learner’s perspective” in mind. My lessons focus on natural everyday conversation, which can be difficult to pick up through textbooks alone. For beginners, I carefully select short, useful phrases and help you build “Japanese that gets understood” by improving your pronunciation, intonation, and rhythm step by step. For intermediate learners and above, we practise through casual chat, simple questions, and role-plays, expanding expressions that fit different situations — from polite to casual to softer, more natural wording — so you can speak with more confidence. Mistakes are part of the learning process. Rather than simply pointing out what’s wrong, I’ll show you more natural ways to say things and create a supportive atmosphere where you can feel comfortable trying. Let’s move forward steadily together, based on your goals.

Beginner (Learn → Imitate → Use) • I introduce 5–8 key phrases for the day (very short, fixed expressions). • We check the meaning and when to use them. • You copy the pronunciation, then intonation, then rhythm. • You repeat after me (together first, then individually). • We use the phrases in a simple mini conversation. Intermediate (Warm-up chat → Questions → Improve → Match your style) • We start with a short warm-up chat (1–2 minutes). • I ask 5–8 everyday questions, and you add a brief reason as well. • You get quick, simple feedback that you can fix straight away. • I suggest alternative wording (more natural / more polite / more casual). • Practice is tailored to your goal (daily conversation, giving opinions, explaining things, etc.). • Pronunciation and intonation are corrected only where needed. • Wrap-up: 2 key improvement points + 3 useful rephrases. Advanced (Real practice → Higher accuracy → Faster responses) • We begin with casual conversation, focusing on natural flow, pauses, and backchanneling (aizuchi). • We do role-plays with a clear purpose (persuading, refusing, negotiating, small talk, etc.). • We record part of the session and replay/recreate key moments to notice your habits. • Feedback focuses on nuance, tone/politeness, and natural timing. • Pronunciation and intonation move from “clear” to “more polished”. • Wrap-up: 3 improvement points + the next lesson theme.
