Hi! I’m a native Japanese speaker from Osaka, Japan, and I have been teaching Japanese online since 2018.
I have around eight years of teaching experience, and I have completed professional training in Japanese language education. I passed the Japanese Language Teaching Competency Test and completed a 420-hour Japanese language teacher training course.
Over the years, I have taught students from many different countries, age groups, and backgrounds. Some of my students started Japanese completely from zero, while others wanted to improve their conversation skills, prepare for JLPT N2 or N3, travel to Japan, or use Japanese for work and daily life.
One of the things I enjoy most about teaching is finding the explanation or practice method that makes something finally “click” for a student. Japanese grammar and expressions can be very different from English, so I try to explain difficult concepts in a clear and practical way rather than simply asking students to memorize rules.
I also understand that speaking a foreign language can feel uncomfortable at first. My goal is to create a relaxed and supportive environment where you can ask questions, make mistakes, and practice without pressure while still making steady progress.
In addition to teaching Japanese, I work as a tour guide for international visitors in Japan. This gives me regular opportunities to communicate with people from different countries and to see what visitors and Japanese learners often find confusing about real-life communication in Japan.
I enjoy games, anime, travel, and Japanese culture, so I’m also happy to incorporate your interests into our conversations and lessons.

**Want to speak Japanese but don’t know where to start? Or have you studied grammar and vocabulary but still find it difficult to use Japanese in real conversations?**
Don’t worry — my lessons are personalized to your level, goals, and interests, and complete beginners are very welcome. I can explain grammar and difficult points in English whenever necessary, so you don’t need to speak Japanese before your first lesson.
**For Complete Beginners**
We can start step by step with Hiragana and Katakana, basic grammar, useful vocabulary, and everyday expressions. My goal is to help you build a strong foundation while gradually becoming comfortable making your own Japanese sentences. We can use textbooks such as GENKI together with my original exercises and learning materials.
**Conversation & Natural Japanese**
If you understand Japanese but find that the words don’t come out when you speak, we will focus on turning your knowledge into real communication. We can talk about daily life, hobbies, work, travel, anime, games, or any topic you enjoy. I will help you correct mistakes, improve pronunciation, and learn natural expressions that Japanese people actually use.
**Travel & Real-Life Japanese**
If you are planning a trip to Japan, we can practice useful situations through role-play, such as ordering at restaurants, shopping, using transportation, asking for help, and communicating with local people. My experience working as a tour guide for international visitors also helps me understand the situations travelers often find difficult in Japan.
**JLPT Preparation**
For students preparing for JLPT N3 or N2, lessons can focus on grammar, vocabulary, reading, and your individual weak points. We can also use additional exercises to make sure you understand not only the correct answer but also why it is correct.
**How My Lessons Work**
A typical lesson includes clear explanations, guided practice, and plenty of opportunities for you to actually use Japanese. I create and adapt exercises based on each student’s needs, so you are not limited to following one textbook from beginning to end.
Making mistakes is an important part of learning a language. I want you to feel comfortable asking questions, trying new expressions, and speaking Japanese without worrying about being perfect.
I teach students aged 12 and above, from complete beginners to intermediate learners.
