Hello, my name is Amane Hori. I am Japanese and have lived in Japan for most of my life.
For a short period during my childhood, I lived overseas, where I first learned English and eventually became fluent. After moving back to Japan, I became fluent in Japanese as well.
I have attended international schools in Japan throughout my education, allowing me to use both English and Japanese regularly and maintain fluency in both languages. Because of my background, I am comfortable communicating naturally in both languages and can switch between them whenever necessary.
I believe my biggest strength is my ability to have natural, engaging conversations in Japanese while making students feel comfortable speaking. I can adjust the way I speak depending on your level, and if you have difficulty understanding something, I can explain it clearly in English.
My sessions are aimed at intermediate Japanese speakers who already have a foundation in Japanese but want more opportunities to actually use it. I mainly speak casual Japanese and my regional dialect, giving you exposure to the kind of Japanese you may hear in everyday conversations outside of Tokyo.
Rather than following a traditional textbook or lesson plan, my goal is to give you a comfortable environment where you can practice speaking, learn natural expressions, and become more confident communicating in Japanese.

This lesson is for intermediate Japanese speakers who want the opportunity to practice having natural conversations with a fluent Japanese speaker.
If you don't know how to say or pronounce a word, feel free to ask me in English. I'm fluent in both Japanese and English, so I can explain things clearly whenever you need help.
I'll mainly speak to you in casual Japanese, including my regional dialect, to give you experience with the kind of Japanese you may hear in everyday conversations outside of Tokyo.
In our conversations, you are free to talk about anything you'd like. My sessions aren't structured like traditional lessons, they're simply opportunities to build your confidence in conversational Japanese.
