Hello! I am Seico Kawai.
My journey into Japanese culture began
with a deeply personal experience.
While studying abroad in the UK during my university
years, a classmate asked me: "What do you love most
about Japanese culture, and what do Japanese
people value?"
At that moment,
I realized I couldn't express the true beauty of
my own culture in my own words.
Frustrated and tearful, I made a promise to
myself: I wanted to deeply understand Japan’s heritage
and share its authentic beauty with the world.
Upon returning to Japan,
I immersed myself in the Way of Tea (Chado).
As an art student back then—with dyed hair and
piercings—I was amazed by how tea ceremony
transcended superficial rules.
On a hot summer day, seeing a single blue flower
placed in a bowl of cool water in the tea room,
I suddenly felt a refreshing breeze.
It wasn't just about drinking tea; it was a profound
art form that enriches human sensitivity,
honors the changing seasons, and calms the soul.
My Mission: I do not aim to just teach techniques.
Through Table Chado, I want to help you create a
"quiet sanctuary" in your busy life,
reconnect with your inner self, and share
the warmth of hospitality with your loved ones.

memorizing strict rules or sitting on the floor (seiza).
It is an ancient Japanese wisdom designed
to help you pause, breathe, and reset—bringing
the timeless aesthetic of Wabi-Sabi directly
into your modern living room.

• Want to practice whisking? Please prepare your own
Matcha powder and a Chasen (Bamboo Whisk).
• Don't have a whisk or prefer to watch?
No problem at all!
You are more than welcome to observe the Master's
demonstration while relaxing and sipping your favorite
beverage from your favorite mug or bowl.
