Hello! I'm Tomomi.
I'm a native Japanese teacher based in Japan. So far, I've taught over 1,200 online lessons to students from around the world. I specialize in helping complete beginners and learners who want to restart their Japanese after taking a break.English support whenever needed.
Before becoming a Japanese teacher, I worked for 15 years at a major Japanese company, where I also supported training programs for international employees. My work often involved hosting events and facilitating meetings, and I'm frequently complimented on my clear pronunciation and easy-to-understand speaking style.
What matters most to me is helping my students experience the joy of saying, "I did it!" and "I was able to express myself in Japanese!" Learning Japanese isn't just about memorizing grammar and vocabulary—it's about using the language with confidence in real-life situations. I'll support you step by step until you can make Japanese your own.
I've also studied abroad and love traveling, so I understand both the excitement and the challenges of learning a foreign language. We'll learn at your own pace, building confidence one step at a time.
In my free time, I enjoy traveling, cooking, and exploring Japanese culture. I especially love traditional Japanese food and lifestyle, such as making fermented foods and homemade umeboshi (pickled plums). In our lessons, you'll learn not only Japanese but also the culture and everyday life of Japan.

私はこれまでに1200レッスン以上のオンラインレッスンを担当し、世界各国の学習者に日本語を教えてきました。特に、初めて日本語を学ぶ方や、以前勉強した日本語をもう一度学び直したい方への指導を得意としています。
日本語講師になる前は、日本の大手企業に15年間勤務し、外国人スタッフへの研修サポートにも携わりました。また、仕事では司会やファシリテーターを担当する機会が多く、聞き取りやすい声や発音を褒めていただくことがあります。
私がレッスンで大切にしているのは、学んだ日本語を実際に使い、「自分の思いが話せた！」「相手に伝わった！」という喜びを感じてもらうことです。文法や語彙を覚えるだけでなく、自分の言葉として使えるようになるまで、丁寧にサポートします。
私自身も海外留学や海外旅行を経験しているため、外国語を学ぶ楽しさと難しさの両方を理解しています。分からないことを一つずつ整理しながら、あなたのペースで着実に進めていきましょう。
旅行や料理が好きで、発酵食品や梅干し作りなど、日本の伝統的な食文化や暮らしも楽しんでいます。レッスンでは、教科書の日本語だけでなく、今の日本の暮らしや文化についてもお話しできます。
