I am a former member of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force with over 11 years of service. I served in the infantry, specializing in operating armored combat vehicles and artillery. I completed Ranger training. I also received basic English training at the Intelligence School and can provide English support as needed. Concerned about the shortage of instructors meeting the demand for military Japanese, I decided to become a Japanese language teacher. Furthermore, I am a certified instructor, having completed the state-mandated Japanese Language Teacher Training Course and passed the Japanese Language Education Proficiency Test. I understand the anxieties surrounding Japanese language learning and am available for consultations regarding your studies.

My lessons utilize original teaching materials based on my personal experience in the Japanese military. I also create curricula tailored to your unit and duties. Instruction on Japanese culture and unique expressions is available as needed. All lessons are conducted in Japanese, but I provide supplementary explanations in English for difficult expressions. Lessons focus on conversations centered around mission analysis, operational instructions, and interactions with Self-Defense Forces personnel. Depending on your needs, I also offer reading exercises using terminology specific to the Self-Defense Forces and listening practice simulating conversations likely to occur in the field. The foundation of my teaching is to provide materials and lessons tailored to your specific needs. My lessons may seem a bit pricier compared to other instructors. However, from a professional standpoint, I can assure you that you won't regret it.

Lessons will be conducted based on the materials I have created. The materials are divided into Chapter 1 and Chapter 2. Chapter 1 consists of 9 units, and Chapter 2 consists of 13 units. Lessons will generally proceed sequentially starting from Chapter 1. Within each unit, we will follow a flow of listening, reading, and conversation practice. Once I determine you can apply the material to conversation without difficulty, we will move on to the next unit. Since lessons using the chapters may feel challenging, I can also provide everyday conversation scripts upon request.
