Hello! I'm Kaho, a native Japanese speaker from Kobe Japan. I graduated from a university of education and worked as a preschool teacher in Japan for four years.
For two years, I taught Japanese privately in Brisbane, Australia, helping around 20 students from primary school children to adults. Most lessons were in person, but I also taught many online lessons. I teach Japanese in English using the **Genki** textbook, conversation practice, and reading activities up to JLPT N3 level. My goal is to make learning Japanese enjoyable, practical, and easy to understand. I also tailor every lesson to each student's goals and learning pace.

My lessons focus on helping students **use Japanese with confidence**, not just memorize grammar. From my own experience learning English, I realized that the most effective way to improve a language is to actively use it. That's why I encourage my students to speak as much Japanese as possible during every lesson.
A typical lesson is divided into two parts. During the first half, we have free conversation in Japanese. We talk about topics such as your weekend, recent experiences, or other everyday situations. We also review and practice grammar from previous lessons, giving you plenty of opportunities to remember and use what you have learned. I believe that the process of forgetting, recalling, and using new language repeatedly is one of the most important parts of language learning. Rather than doing most of the talking myself, I ask questions and guide the conversation so that students naturally produce Japanese.
In the second half of the lesson, we learn new grammar using the **Genki** textbook through screen sharing. I explain each grammar point clearly in English, then we immediately practice it through speaking activities and real-life examples so that you can start using it right away.
I also offer personalized lessons based on your goals. Whether you want practical Japanese for traveling in Japan, conversation practice, reading comprehension (up to approximately JLPT N3 level), or extra grammar review, I can tailor each lesson to suit your needs.
My goal is to create enjoyable, practical, and interactive lessons where you feel comfortable making mistakes and gradually become more confident speaking Japanese.
